“The Expert” by Atsushi Nakajima
Unfortunately, he is not that well-known internationally, but he’s definitely a unique writer worth exploring. Nakajima was well versed in Chinese classics, which made his style distinguished and captivating. The story makes us question what it really means to become an expert. After the protagonist attains mastership, he becomes expressionless and a ‘simpleton’. It seems he has lost humanity. What has he sacrificed to reach the top?
